Ingredients

For the Tuna Tacos:

1 lb fresh sushi-grade tuna, diced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 avocado, sliced

For the Strawberry Slaw:

2 cups shredded red cabbage

1 cup strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced

1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Tuna Marinade: In a bowl, combine diced tuna with olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.

Make the Strawberry Slaw: In another bowl, mix together the shredded red cabbage, sliced strawberries, cilantro, and red onion. In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to combine. Set aside.

Cook the Tuna: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated tuna and sear for about 1-2 minutes, allowing it to cook for a very short time, aiming for a medium-rare finish. Remove from heat.

Warm the Tortillas: In the same pan or on a grill, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds per side until they are soft and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: On each tortilla, layer a few pieces of seared tuna, top with a generous portion of strawberry slaw, and add a few slices of avocado.

Serve: Place the tacos on a platter and serve with extra lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
