Ingredients

1.5 lbs chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. This will be your sweet and sticky marinade.

Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, ensuring that it's well coated. Reserve the other half for later. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2–3 hours for maximum flavor.

Cook the chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Add the chicken thighs to the pan in a single layer. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Add the reserved marinade: Once the chicken is cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Bring it to a simmer and allow it to reduce for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and becomes a sticky glaze.

Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Slice the chicken, if desired, and drizzle the sticky glaze over the top. Garnish with sliced green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds for added crunch.

Enjoy: Serve your Sweet & Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken over steamed rice or alongside roasted vegetables to soak up the delicious sauce!
