Ingredients

20 large pasta shells

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Boil the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is fully cooked and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix well until creamy and fully combined.

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Using a spoon, carefully stuff each pasta shell with the meat and cheese mixture, then place them seam-side up in the baking dish.

Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are well-coated. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil before enjoying!
