Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

1 large onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups low-sodium chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves or 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Cooked rice or mashed potatoes (for serving)

Instructions

In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge the pork chops in this mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the sliced onions and sauté until they become translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow it to come to a gentle simmer.

Stir in the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Let the sauce simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it slightly thickens.

Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cover the skillet with a lid and let simmer on low for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve the smothered pork chops over cooked rice or mashed potatoes, drizzling the creamy sauce generously over the top.
