Ingredients

4 medium Russet potatoes

4 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons sea salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

4 teaspoons garlic powder

4 teaspoons onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Aluminum foil

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes: Start by thoroughly washing and scrubbing the potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a towel.

Poke Holes: Use a fork to poke several holes in each potato. This allows steam to escape while they cook, preventing them from bursting.

Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika (if using). Mix well to create a seasoning paste.

Coat the Potatoes: Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over each potato, ensuring all sides are coated.

Wrap in Foil: Lay each potato on a piece of aluminum foil and wrap them tightly, sealing each potato individually to retain moisture during cooking.

Arrange in Slow Cooker: Place the wrapped potatoes in the slow cooker. You can stack them if necessary, but make sure they are not squished together.

Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and set it to low heat. Cook for 6-8 hours; for firmer potatoes, you can aim for 6 hours, or up to 8 hours for super soft ones.

Check for Doneness: After cooking, carefully unwrap a potato to check if it's done. The skin should be crisp, and a fork should pierce easily through the flesh.

Serve: Allow the potatoes to cool for a few minutes before unwrapping them. Serve with your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, or bacon bits!
