Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter (your choice)

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

1 cup chopped peanut butter cups (such as Reese's)

1 cup milk (whole or almond for a dairy-free option)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for optional dusting)

Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix by adding it directly to the greased baking dish. Spread it evenly across the bottom—no need to mix!

Pour Wet Mix: Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cake mix layer in the baking dish. Gently layer it without mixing. The dry ingredients will absorb the wet ingredients as they bake.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped peanut butter cups evenly over the top of the unswallowed cake mix. Use the back of a spoon to gently press them down into the batter.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. The top should be golden brown and slightly firm to the touch.

Cool and Dust: Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes. If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve warm. For an indulgent treat, top each piece with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
