Ingredients

4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)

1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated.

Apply the BBQ Sauce: Place the chicken in a roasting pan or baking dish. Pour half of the BBQ sauce evenly over the chicken, reserving the other half for later.

Bake the Chicken: Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Add a BBQ Glaze: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and brush the remaining BBQ sauce over the chicken thighs. Bake uncovered for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Let it Rest: Once done, take the chicken out of the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a more moist and tender bite.

Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a pop of color. Serve with your favorite sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or grilled vegetables.
