Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon honey

Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

Juice and zest of 1 large orange

2 tablespoons soy sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well combined.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin side down in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes while you prepare the other elements of the dish.

Preheat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and let it warm for a minute.

Cook the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade (discard the used marinade) and place the fillets in the hot skillet, skin side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Prepare the Glaze: While the salmon is cooking, take the remaining marinade and pour it into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, and let it reduce for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Serve the Salmon: Once the salmon is cooked, place the fillets on plates and drizzle generously with the reduced glaze. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro for a pop of color.

Pair It Up: Serve with a side of steamed asparagus or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
