Ingredients

6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

1 cup sugar-free BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.

Make the Rub: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix them well to form a paste.

Season the Thighs: Rub the spice mixture thoroughly over each chicken thigh, ensuring they are well coated, especially under the skin for maximum flavor.

Arrange in a Baking Dish: Place the seasoned chicken thighs skin-side up in a greased baking dish.

Bake the Chicken: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Add BBQ Sauce: After 25 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven. Brush each thigh generously with the sugar-free BBQ sauce, reserving some for later.

Broil for Finish: Return the chicken to the oven and switch to broil. Broil for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.

Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle with any remaining BBQ sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
