Ingredients

12 mozzarella sticks

2 cups crushed Hot Cheetos

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Oil, for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Coating: In a food processor, crush the Hot Cheetos into a fine crumb and transfer to a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, place the flour. In a third dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.

Coat the Mozzarella Sticks: Take a mozzarella stick and first dip it in the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, and lastly, coat it with the crushed Hot Cheetos. Press the Cheetos onto the stick gently to adhere. Repeat with all mozzarella sticks.

Freeze: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the coated mozzarella sticks on it. Freeze for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. This helps the cheese not to ooze out during frying.

Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan or a pot, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Sticks: Carefully add the mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1-2 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve: Serve the hot Cheeto mozzarella sticks immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
