Ingredients

4 cups water

4 black tea bags (or green tea bags for a milder taste)

1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped

1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Ice cubes

Optional: Slices of lime and extra mango chunks for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags. Allow it to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

Make the Mango Puree: While the tea is steeping, place the chopped mango in a blender. Blend until smooth, adding a splash of water if necessary to help it blend. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any fibers, if desired.

Sweeten the Tea: Once the tea is brewed, remove the tea bags and stir in the honey or agave syrup while the tea is still warm. This ensures that the sweetener fully dissolves.

Combine Flavors: Stir the mango puree and lime juice into the sweetened tea until well combined.

Chill the Tea: Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill.

Serve: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled mango iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, slices of lime, and optional mango chunks for a tropical look.

Enjoy: Stir before sipping and revel in the refreshing flavors of your homemade mango iced tea!
