Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)

1 cup elbow macaroni

2 cups beef broth (low-sodium)

1 cup whole milk

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the Meat: Once the beef is browned, stir in paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef in spices.

Add Macaroni and Liquids: Pour in the beef broth and milk, then add the elbow macaroni. Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is cooked and the sauce has thickened. If it gets too thick, feel free to add a little more beef broth or milk.

Add Cheese: Once the macaroni is tender, remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Spoon the homemade Hamburger Helper into bowls and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy your comforting and cheesy meal!
