Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss until the sprouts are evenly coated.

Roast the Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they have room to roast and aren’t overcrowded.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 25-30 minutes. Halfway through, give them a good stir to ensure even roasting. They should be golden brown and crisp-tender when done.

Add Parmesan: Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over them. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese.

Finish with Balsamic: Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, take the Brussels sprouts out of the oven. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and give them a final toss.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the roasted Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
