Ingredients

2 cups pretzel twists

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup brown sugar

1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Pretzel Base: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine the pretzel twists, melted butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the pretzels are fully coated.

Bake the Pretzel Mixture: Spread the coated pretzels evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.

Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the drained crushed pineapple and mix well. Fold in the whipped topping until fully combined, then gently incorporate the mini marshmallows and pecans (if using).

Combine the Mixture: Once the pretzel mixture has cooled, reserve about 1 cup of it for topping. Fold the remaining pretzel mixture into the cream cheese fruit mixture until well incorporated.

Chill and Serve: Transfer the salad mixture into a serving dish, and sprinkle the reserved pretzel topping on top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and to set the salad.

Garnish and Enjoy: Before serving, you can add additional mini marshmallows or pecans on top for an extra crunchy texture. Serve chilled.
