Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned; drain excess fat if needed.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper, allowing the mixture to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mixture with the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth until well combined.

In a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.

Add another layer of the remaining potatoes, followed by the remaining beef mixture.

Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, and return to the oven. Bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once done, let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
