Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon black pepper

½ cup beef broth

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stir-frying for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the beef broth and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet, drizzle with sesame oil, and stir well to combine everything. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Serve the pepper steak hot over cooked rice or noodles and enjoy your delightful dinner!
