1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup buttermilk (or milk mixed with 1/2 tsp vinegar)

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

      Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

        Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the creamed butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

            Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and brown sugar.

              Layer and Swirl: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and gently swirl it with a knife to create a marbled effect.

                Bake the Loaf: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                  Cool and Serve: Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve, enjoying the deliciously moist and fragrant aroma of cinnamon.
