Ingredients

For the Burger Patty:

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 blend for juiciness)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Toppings:

4 slices of aged Irish cheddar cheese

4 whole wheat burger buns

1 cup arugula or mixed greens

1 medium red onion, sliced into rings

1 cup sautéed mushrooms (button or cremini)

1/2 cup crispy bacon, chopped

1/4 cup Irish stout (for the sauce)

For the Irish Stout Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

1/4 cup Irish stout

Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.

Make the Irish Stout Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, Irish stout, and black pepper until smooth. Adjust seasoning as necessary.

Cook the Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness (145°F for medium, 160°F for well done).

Sauté the Mushrooms: In a separate skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Toast the Buns: Cut the whole wheat buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

Assemble the Burger: Spread a generous amount of Irish stout sauce on both halves of the toasted buns. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar on the bottom half. Top with sautéed mushrooms, crispy bacon pieces, red onion rings, and arugula. Close the burger with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Enjoy your Ultimate Irish Pub Burger immediately, paired with a side of crispy fries or a refreshing side salad!
