Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)

2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

4 burger buns

Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

Cook the Chicken: Increase the heat to medium-high, add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the diced tomatoes, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine the flavors. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Prepare the Buns: While the mixture simmers, lightly toast the burger buns on a separate pan or grill until golden brown.

Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture generously onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. If desired, sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Garnish and Serve: Add fresh parsley or green onions for garnish, and place the top half of the bun on each. Serve immediately and enjoy!
