Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

3/4 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped (optional)

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Make the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat them together using an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, beating until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.

Mix Together: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts.

Spread the Batter: Pour and spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Set aside the remaining batter.

Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix together the 1 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, and melted butter until a smooth paste forms.

Layer and Swirl: Spoon the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the batter in the pan. Then, drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top and use a knife or toothpick to swirl the mixtures together gently, creating a marbled effect.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Frosting: In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. If the frosting is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.

Frost the Bars: Once the bars are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.

Serve and Enjoy: Cut into bars and serve. Enjoy your Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars warm or at room temperature!
