Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Butter or vegetable oil for the pan

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and brown sugar, mixing well until smooth and creamy.

Add the milk, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Whisk until all the wet ingredients are well combined.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined—be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip and cook the other side for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter or oil to the skillet as needed.

Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, additional banana slices, or whipped cream.
