Ingredients

8 oz egg noodles

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained and flaked

1 cup frozen peas

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or homemade)

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, frozen peas, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Combine ingredients: Add the cooked noodles to the tuna mixture and gently fold everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the creamy sauce.

Assemble the casserole: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil. Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it out evenly.

Add the topping: In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the casserole for a crunchy topping.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy this comforting cheesy tuna noodle casserole with your favorite side salad!
