1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

Preheat the Oven:

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

      Make the Brownie Batter:

        In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in 1 cup of granulated sugar until combined. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

          Combine Dry Ingredients:

            In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.

              Prepare the Cheesecake Mixture:

                In a medium bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar until smooth and creamy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well combined.

                  Layer the Brownies:

                    Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Top with the cheesecake mixture, spreading it gently with a spatula to cover the brownie base. Add the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it evenly over the cheesecake layer.

                      Create the Swirl:

                        Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the brownie and cream cheese batters together to create a marbled effect. Be careful not to over-mix.

                          Bake:
