Ingredients

4 large buttery croissants

8 slices of thinly sliced ham (your choice: smoked, honey, or black forest)

4 slices of Swiss cheese (or any cheese you prefer)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Paprika (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter and chopped chives. Mix until well blended.

Slice each croissant in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom.

Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each croissant.

Place two slices of ham on each croissant bottom, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Carefully place the croissant tops back on each sandwich.

Spread the chive butter generously on the outside of each croissant sandwich to ensure they get that golden, crispy finish.

Place the croissant sandwiches on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle a pinch of paprika for an extra touch of flavor if desired.

Let cool for a few minutes before slicing in half and serving warm.
