Ingredients

4 flounder fillets (about 6 ounces each)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional for added crunch)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the baking dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil or butter to prevent sticking.

Make the garlic butter sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Be careful not to let the garlic burn. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Arrange the flounder: Place the flounder fillets in the prepared baking dish in a single layer. Pour half of the garlic butter mixture over the fillets, ensuring they are well-coated.

Add breadcrumbs (optional): If using, sprinkle panko breadcrumbs evenly over the fillets for a crunchy topping.

Bake the flounder: Pour the remaining garlic butter sauce over the top of the fillets. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Broil for finishing touch: For a golden top, remove the foil and switch the oven to broil. Broil the flounder for an additional 2-3 minutes until the breadcrumbs (if using) are golden brown and crispy.

Garnish and serve: Remove the dish from the oven and let it sit for a minute. Garnish with extra chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for a fresh burst of flavor.

Enjoy your Butter Garlic Baked Flounder with a side of steamed vegetables or a light salad for a complete meal!
