BBQ Chicken and Cheese Sliders

1 lb cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

12 slider buns (preferably sweet Hawaiian rolls)

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 cup sliced pickles (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Mix Chicken and Sauce: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken and BBQ sauce. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated and set aside.

      Prepare Slider Buns: Remove the tops of the slider buns while keeping them attached to form a lid over the bottom part. Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

        Spread the Chicken Mixture: Evenly spread the BBQ chicken mixture over the bottom halves of the slider buns.

          Add Cheese Layer: Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses generously over the BBQ chicken.

            Combine Toppings: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder. Spread this mixture over the tops of the slider buns.

              Add Top Bun and Bake: Place the tops of the slider buns on the cheese layer. Brush the top of the buns with olive oil for a golden finish.

                Bake Sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

                  Serve: Allow the sliders to cool for a couple of minutes. If desired, add slices of pickles on top and sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
