Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup cold butter, cubed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread the banana mixture evenly in a greased 9-inch baking dish.

In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, granulated sugar, and chopped walnuts (if using). Mix well.

Add the cubed cold butter to the oat mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the oat crumble mixture evenly over the bananas in the baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crisp.

Let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy it warm, on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
