Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (around 6 ounces each)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon capers, drained (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush them with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper. Place them skin-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy clean-up.

Make the Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

Add Cream and Flavor: Stir in the heavy cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix well and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Add in the chopped dill and capers (if using), and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove from heat.

Bake the Salmon: Pour half of the sauce over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well-coated. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Once baked, drizzle the remaining lemon butter cream sauce over the salmon fillets. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy: Pair your luscious baked salmon with steamed asparagus or a light salad, and savor the delightful flavors!
