1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk with a splash of vinegar)

1 large egg

2 tbsp melted butter

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (from about 1 lemon)

For the Lemon Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tbsp fresh lemon juice (adjust for consistency)

1/2 tsp grated lemon zest

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or lightly oil it.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and lemon zest. Whisk them together until well blended.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
