Ingredients

3 medium-sized apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples very thinly (about 1/8 inch thick). If you're using lemon juice, toss the apple slices in a bowl with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.

Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt. This will create your delicious cinnamon sugar coating.

Coat the Apple Slices: Lay the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Lightly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the apple slices. Make sure to distribute it evenly for consistent flavor.

Bake the Chips: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven. Bake for about 2 hours, flipping the apple slices halfway through the baking time to ensure even crisping. Continue to bake until they are dry and crispy.

Cool and Enjoy: Once baked, remove the apple chips from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheets. They will continue to crisp up as they cool. Store them in an airtight container for up to a week (if they last that long!).
