Ingredients

12 fresh jalapeño peppers

8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/8 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs (for topping)

Fresh cilantro or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Jalapeños: Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes (use gloves if desired to avoid irritation). This will reduce the heat level but you can leave some seeds for a spicier kick!

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Stuff the Jalapeños: Use a spoon or a piping bag to fill each jalapeño half with the cheese and bacon mixture. Ensure they are generously filled.

Prepare for Baking: Place the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top of each filled jalapeño for that delightful crunch.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the jalapeños are tender and the tops are golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro or chives if desired. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack!
