Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Form Patties: Shape the mixture into 4-6 oval patties, depending on your preferred size.

Sear the Patties: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a bit of oil. Once hot, sear the patties for around 3-4 minutes on each side until they are browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden and any liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes.

Make the Sauce: Add the beef broth to the skillet with the mushrooms, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer, allowing it to reduce slightly for about 3 minutes. Then stir in the heavy cream and return to a simmer.

Combine and Bake: In a large baking dish, place the seared hamburger patties. Pour the mushroom and cream sauce over the top, making sure they are well coated. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the patties.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
